About

::YamaKiyo Press
The YamaKiyo Press is an independent website founded and maintained by Jon Yamaoka whose purpose is to provide translated information from Japanese technology-related websites to the general public. While the aim is to provide a view of the situation overseas, due to current circumstances it will not always be possible to translate every single news story that comes across the wires. Due to time constraints there may also be periods of complete radio silence, however efforts will be made to post at least several stories per day.

::The Author
Jon Yamaoka is a soon-to-be graduate from the University of Hawaii with a BA in Japanese language and literature. Jon has 4 years of Japanese language experience including 1 year of study overseas at Sophia University in Tokyo, Japan. He currently operates this site both as a means to hone and maintain his Japanese language skills while providing sometimes hard-to-access Japanese information to the general non-Japanese speaking public.

::Services
The YamaKiyo Press currently specializes in translation from Japanese to English for the following types of media:
- newspaper / internet news articles
- computer and technical documentation
- broadcast media
